Do you love the smell of a Christmas Tree in your home? Who doesn't? We all know the potential fire hazard of a real Christmas tree. Every year we are reminded to check our tree daily for dry pine needles and add water accordingly. But, did you know there is another potential hazard - MOLD. That's right! According to the research the amount of mold can increase by as much as (5) times during the Christmas Holidays! Here are some steps you can take to reduce the amount of mold in your home this Holiday Season:
1). Buy an artificial tree. I know this is obvious, but if you are highly allergic to mold like me this may be the way you need to go;
2). Change the Whole House Filter (furnace filter) in your home during the Holidays to a HEPA Filter. This filter traps dust, dander, dust mites, and mold;
3). Vacuum all carpets and rugs three times per week using a true HEPA filtration vacuum system;
4). Allow in as much fresh air as possible;
5). Take down the tree as soon as the Christmas Holidays are over.
If your allergy symptoms got worse during the Holidays plan on having us professionally steam clean all of the carpets in your home. Our system can extract mold and other substances from the carpets leaving them once again clean and fresh.
Merry Christmas!
